Police: Champs Sports at Waterbury mall robbed at knifepoint

Waterbury police are searching for two suspects they say displayed a knife while robbing the Champs Sports store in the Brass Mill Mall on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022.

WATERBURY — Police are searching for two suspects they say robbed an athletic shoe store  at knifepoint inside the Brass Mill Mall Thursday evening.

Waterbury police said they were called to the mall on Union Street after a reported armed robbery at the Champs Sports store, police said in a statement. 

Police said store employees reported two men had "stolen items from the store and a knife was displayed during the incident."

No injuries were reported during the robbery, and both suspects fled before police arrived. 

Police said the investigation into the incident remains active.
