The California Energy Commission (CEC) will host a remote webinar to present an overview of a certification program component of Assembly Bill (AB 205, Committee on Budget, Chapter 61, Statutes of 2022), subsequently modified by AB 209 (Ting, Chapter 251, Statutes of 2022) for certain new Department of Water Resources (DWR) facilities. CEC staff will solicit input on the proposed emergency regulations to implement this newly established CEC certification program. The CEC is also directed to establish a certification program to license four specific types of facilities proposed to be developed by DWR under the Strategic Reliability Reserve program. The purpose of this program is to ensure electricity reliability during extreme weather events while the State transitions to a clean energy future.

The public can participate in the webinar consistent with the Zoom attendance instructions below. The CEC aims to begin promptly at the start time posted and estimates the event will go two hours but may end sooner.
